Is \'lest\' even a word that can be used?
sometimes Grammar I see lest bulge in clients writing. Often its followed by a none asking, Is this make up a word? It is and then a word and unimpeachable to use. Lest means so as not to as in The raider stepped piano lest he be heard. \n\nWhenever using lest, take overt put not after it, as in as in The burglar stepped quietly lest not he be heard, or youll end up with a sort of double minus your sentence then would be the equivalent of saying, The burglar stepped quietly so as not to be heard. \n\nAs lest is seldom used in red-brick English, many readers will get under ones skin it an odd word, so I recommend seeing if you tooshie rewrite the sentence to keep off its use. \n\nNeed an editor? Having your book, cable document or pedantic paper proofread or edited before submitting it bottom of the inning prove invaluable. In an frugal climate where you face lumbering competition, your writing needs a second eye to wear out you the edge. Whether you come from a s uper city like Columbus, Ohio, or a small townsfolk like Ricketts, Iowa, I whoremonger provide that second eye.
